I love the Art Deco style. It’s not for everything, but when done correctly is so crisp and beautiful. A new client came to me wanting a total Great Gatsby Art Deco look for their logo, so I spent a few hours collecting some juicylicious inspiration. What I collected for them will definitely keep me happily inspired for a long, long time.
I love all of the angles and curves working together, and how geometry is used to create these beautiful intricate patterns. It’s so modern, classic and even though tied heavily with with the 1920’s, feels perfectly timeless when done right- like the San Francisco poster. I also will always love the overlapping of line-as-pattern like in the architectural example and the safe design. I love exploring all of the intricacies in each of the samples I’ve chosen, so it’s going to be really interesting working in this style.
