This is a picture he took as we were celebrating Rosh Hashanah at the Cicada Club. It was one of my favorite nights of 2013.
Wow it’s been one incredible year. Last year when I set up the ledger for 2013, I dubbed it “the year of awesome!” and it has absolutely delivered 10 fold.
Business wise, we saw an incredible variety of clients– both in personality and profession. We branded burlesque dancers, fashion designers, and video production teams. We provided creative direction for an entire beauty awards show, created endless ad iterations for a bomb-ass burger chain, helped an ADORED return client launch a new side business, and of course worked with some awesome photographers!
Adding to the heap o’ awesome pile: we started adding to our roster of services!
Now Jake and I are wading deep into facilitation, strategy, messaging, and marketing. We’ve been able to connect a team working on a supremely awesome 3D printing model prototype with a fabrication company interested in said prototype, as well as help a few return clients change demographics/markets. But don’t worry– we still are totally whirling plates of design, creative direction & copywriting all at the same time. Whoa- I know, but it feels so RIGHT.
This year we truly made the absolute most of our time. I brought back sewing monsters– originally as a gift for one of our friend’s lovely daughter, but now the options are all too open to explore! I love these, and they come super easy to me. There’s a place for them in all of this.. I just know it!
obviously the middle one still needs a face…
The Kubrick Project is going STRONG! Thanks to the serendipitous nature of Hollywood, I’ve since found an actual practical application for the current work I’ve been doing– all while happily building towards that web experience I KNOW it needs to be. We also made our second round of the Kubrick Exhibit at the LACMA. No I haven’t shared those pictures yet, I’m still hoarding them.
For holiday gifts this year, we spent over a year on making these awesome snow globes! Jake has a ton of family and these babies were so cute– how could we leave anyone out?! It’s been making the rounds across interest and craft sites, but we made it our own by hand making little trees out of scupley. Talk about labor of love! AND GLITTER!
A cross section of the insanity-craft-laden mess that was my desk for two months. It’s “cleaner” now (kind of)
It’s the end of 2013, and we already have a wait-list starting for 2014. Life is incredible, and I’m so grateful for all of you who helped make this year so flipping fantastic. If you’re interested in scoping out some of the other shenanigans I’ve been into this year, check out my pinterest and my newly finagled portfolio. 2014, we’re coming for ya baby!
